Dear Michel,
My testimony tells that the most beautiful and important thing I experienced, while undergoing treatment in Dentosophy, does not concern the teeth in the strict sense. This will not surprise you, given that the holistic approach to each case is the first thing you teach us. The teeth and the jaw were the consequences of my deep distress. Dentosophy allowed me to understand this. Thanks to this, I was able to trace back to the cause, to clearly get to the heart of my problem, something I had never managed to do before.
I am 47 years old, a dentist (specialized in orthodontics), married to a South American, with two children, the first of whom is healthy and 21 years old, and the second, who is 19, is trisomic. I have a family life with several problems, including the handicap of my daughter, which is particularly challenging, difficult to accept at every moment, and to live daily.
But what caused me the most suffering was the relationship with my husband. Conflicts, disputes were frequent and the discussions were intense, endless, without ever leading to a deep understanding.
Between me and my husband, despite the mutual love, there was a great difficulty in communicating, both from the early months following our marriage and after 20 years, it continued to divide and degrade us.
My suffering (and naturally his) on the emotional level was very significant and damaged my life (especially my extra-professional life) to the point that I preferred to sleep, dream, rather than live real life. During the day, I never had energy and I felt crushed by stress, by my headaches, neck, shoulder pains. As a child, I had followed a treatment in fixed orthodontics with the extraction of the four first premolars to treat a dental-alveolar protrusion. I began to have jaw dysfunction during the first months of my first pregnancy. It was after a decade that I resorted to a splint for jaw dysfunction. That's why at night I helped myself by wearing an anterior mandibular repositioning splint. During the day, I avoided that the teeth touched each other out of fear of triggering pain and used my tongue between the teeth (that's why the occlusion was open and I didn't have valid functional axes). Later, after a few years following these troubles, I had a Hashimoto thyroiditis.
At night, I sought refuge in my world as if I had a double life. I dreamed a lot every hour and the dreams were so intense, almost always pleasant. When I could, during weekends or vacation periods, I slept a lot, too. If I didn't sleep as much, I had headaches that caused nausea until vomiting.
I proposed to my husband that we follow this treatment together. I proposed it with the motivation of treating his nocturnal snoring, characterized by episodes of dyspnea and nocturnal apneas. He also suffered from arrhythmia and I had advised him a cardiac surgery. But what interested me the most was to improve our relationship.
Reading the mouth allowed me to become aware of our characteristic differences. I finally understood that we had strengths and weaknesses and that they were linked to our deep nature, as well as our experience and our way of functioning. I finally succeeded in understanding these aspects that we now had to consider without judging ourselves as we did in the past. From there, the steps towards acceptance, forgiveness, and truly loving ourselves followed naturally and continue to advance on the path now embarked upon. I feel as if I have taken the right path, after so many wrong paths that led me to crash against insurmountable walls.
My intention from the beginning was to rebalance my dominant right function, which made me very rational, sensitive but cold, numb emotionally, I no longer loved myself and wanted to change.
He would have balanced his dominant left function, which made him very emotional (emotions, especially anger, were the ones that created the most problems for us), intuitive, strong in feeling and weak in thinking.
Since we started the treatment with the activator, we also changed sides of chewing, our interest in spirituality has grown, as well as the meditation we started to practice both with the activator and without. I enrolled in a Kundalini Yoga school. As a result, the extreme aspects of our behavior have balanced.
The result is that our couple is miraculously reborn. It's our renaissance. Now there is more understanding, gentleness, good humor, and mutual love. We no longer argue violently as we did in the past. Conflicts are rare and short-lived. This creates a big difference in terms of quality of life for the entire family. My husband used to mock me, saying that I was like the granite of my native land, Sardinia, that I would never change, and that's not good, I can assure you.
On the contrary, he was like an erupting volcano, always in activity, changing. This is also destabilizing when it's excessive. Now I feel changed, and the process is ongoing.
I feel that he will lead me to become a better person, as it has already happened during the past year. My right function seems to be passing to the left. A profound change that leaves me incredulous. In fact, it happens when I am relaxed and the teeth do not touch, my mandible centers by moving clearly almost 1mm to the left.
Among the changes relative to the past year, my posture has improved, as has the occlusion. The jaw problems have disappeared, and from this point of view, I feel healed. I have started to develop intuition and empathy and today I succeed in saying what I feel and not just what I think. When certain things happen that I do not share, I perceive them more lightly, less visceral, and they become therefore bearable, acceptable, less dramatic. Sometimes my son used to call me "Mom Catastrophe".
Now my husband breathes well at night, and the episodes of arrhythmia have not reappeared; as a result, he will not be operated on the heart. He succeeds in well controlling his rages, which are rare, less frequent, and less unpredictable than before. Professionally, he has also oriented himself towards a new activity that will allow him to leave a subordinate job that did not gratify him.
The main strength of this treatment for me has been the awareness, which has directed me towards a real and profound change.
The year 2014, with the discovery of Dentosophy and the wearing of the activator, will remain memorable for me thanks to the improvement brought about in myself, in my life, and in that of many people close to me, both in my family and for my patients.
Thank you, Michel.
